The first date: Can be an overthinking person’s nightmare! Here is a snapshot/lookbook of my single romantic lifestyle. For all my singles and looking I know you can relate.

How to look better on first dates?

Do you want to look more pleasant on date outings, dinner dates, picnic dates, walk in the park, formal dates, after work dates, and virtual: FaceTime, Skype, Zoom dates?

It might be a blind date, a friend you knew for a while, just catching up, church date/Kingdom date/encouragement date with a friend, and want to look your best. Here are the basic essentials on how to always look your greatest! Now while your quarantined, meeting personally, video calls, FaceBook/IG HouseParty, WhatsApp, GoogleDuo, I got your back, as your virtual stylist, Madamedelaj.

1. Dress for the outing

-Find out wear he wants to meet

2. Dress to be yourself

-Be the best version on you.

3. Dress cute but comfortable

-Don’t wear anything your not used to wearing.

4. Grab a pair of jeans

-Jeans go with most setting, just wear a blouse on top depending on the occasion

5. Dress modest

-Don’t show cleavage or anything to short, so you don’t come off strong.

6. Don’t focus on the trend.

-Guys are simple.

7. Virtual date

-Nice top that matches your skin with an accessory.

8. Casual date

-Jeans and a nice blouse

9. Dinner date

-Bring out the accessories

10. Lunch break/After work date

-Grab and extra pair of slacks or sneakers.

Here is a Face mask tutorial no sew video. Very cute, trendy, and wearable styles! I am using a skirt that is in my house that I no longer wear anymore!

Simple materials; stretchy pattern of your choice, ruler, scissors, paper, marker/pen, white chalk, and safety pins. I have included measuring details above.

Attention please: look for measurements ahead for width and and CM’s! You can use a coffee filter or 100% cotton. DIY mask do not replace surgical mask but it will give you some sort of guard/protection when you have to go out and leave the house. This is a great source to use if you do not have a sewing machine at home. Use this example for a guide. This is great if you don’t have supplies or money to buy mask but the safest thing to do is to stay home!

Wash the mask with soap and hot water every time you utilize it! Dry it after using it and wait till it’s completely drive before using it again.

If you are having difficulties measure the length and width of your face.

Be safe stay home and cuddle your family!

How to look better on zoom calls

Do you want to look more pleasant or professional on Zoom calls, webcam, FaceTime, Skype, and all your other virtual video chats? You mighty be chatting for a virtual date, with friends, with your boss, or just family, and want to look your best. Here are the basic essentials on how to always look your greatest! Now while your quarantined, working from home, video calls, FaceBook/IG Live, etc., I got your back, as your virtual stylist, Madame De La J.

Due to this big pandemic many of us are staying safe by communicating with the outside world virtually! Most of us are using video virtual chats. However, sometimes we loose the connection or the magic that happens in our conversations; because we aren’t set up properly to make the chemistry. Sometimes we lose the momentum in our business and work place because of the lack of professional video calls. Also for virtual church, fellowship suffers due to the lack of zeal exemplified on church calls, and remote bible studies. There is a way to fix this and as your virtual stylist (madamedelaj). I’m going to show you how to look during video calls!

1. Clean background: You don’t want any unnecessary background distractions for the viewer. There are background options on different apps like zoom. Use these backgrounds if you do not have time to clean.

2. Take away distractions: Make sure your devices are fully charged so your not cut off in the middle of the meeting! If you have kids make sure they are busy with something they can do on their own. Try using a do-not-disturb sign if you have that option. Put yourself on mute. Avoid any disturbing background noises like the fan, etc.

3. Find the most appealing lighting on your skin tone: avoid shadows or dark shades on your face. Test this by using your phone. Put your phone on video and travel around the room until you see a reflection of lighting that suits you best. You can also use a ring lighting if you have one. There are some affordable options.

4. Position your device: You can use a tripod but if you don’t have one. Get creative and use pillows, coffee mug, or different things around the house that can give your device more stability while your video calling (hands free) I use pillows sometimes!

5. Attire: Know who your audience is! A nice top is fine! It’s not like they can see your bottoms!

professional/interview/work:Wear a blazer. No cleavage. No shirts that are too bright.

Date: Off the shoulder is fine but, nice color lipstick (red is an option). Full makeup (depending on the guy)

Family/friends/Social Media: A clean ironed blouse that match the color of your skin very well. Make up is optional.

6. Make up- all depends on the setting. It’s normally save to go with natural make up.

7. Posture & Camera angel: The way your admitting can make you look unappealing. Make sure the camera allocate a nice long neck and have eye . This comes along with camera angel. Top screen slightly down and make sure the camera is faced slightly above eye level.

8. Pay attention!: You want to look engaged so the speaker has your full attention. Avoid looking bored it can come across as offensive. Do not touch unusual parts of your face to draw unnecessary attention to yourself. And also to not make yourself look like you have poor hygiene. Ex: itching the ears, rubbing your nose, or playing with your lips, etc.

Transformation Challenge

Set up:

1. Find an area with good lighting

2. Clean up unnecessary backgrounds

3. Position phone using tripod etc! (My tripod is too short so I get creative)

4. Make sure ( for posting purposes) the phone is faced straight up!

5. Grab your device (not bible) on the front screen of the device be sure there is a picture of a bible study. Be creative the device can be; laptop, tablet, a friends phone etc. If you are having trouble finding a device call a friend

First Skit: ⚠️ video no more the 7-8 seconds!

1. Start with your ugly but modest outfit first.

Here is an example of how you can use both tablet and laptop.

2. A. Do a “God help me face.” B. Than someone find someone to hand you the Device ( or look like someone is handing you the (device with bible study picture on it) ⚠️ very important that it’s being handed to you from your right, and than completely cover the the phone with the device in your hands (w/bible study picture on it) Just like you see it in the video.

Next: Pick your dramatically different best church outfit! Try it on and make sure you like the way it looks on you on camera.

Second Skit: ⚠️ video no more than 9-10 seconds!

1. Start your skit by completely covering the the screen of the device that your filming on with the other device that has (the picture w/bible study picture on it)

2. Remove the device. While holding it in your hand show off new outfit. (“W/Happiest face expression”

3. End video Handing over the device to the left of you. some people find someone to take away the device get creative if you can’t find someone ( or just make it look like your handing someone the (device with bible study picture in it) to the left !!!!!⚠️ very important that your passing it in to the left. Just like you see it in the video.
